In this episode of Maggie Mumbles, I was lucky enough to talk with Julia Robertson about my passion for rescue greyhounds and lurchers. We chat about the challenges these breeds face due to track racing and the day-to-day life of these gentle and unique dogs.

Many of our rescue greyhounds will have had racing careers, and the harsh nature of the track will have led to a specific set of issues and injuries. Wanting to help as many greyhound owners as possible, I devised my online workshop to teach owners to understand and mitigate the physical effects of their dogs racing careers.

We look at how even minor issues can lead to more chronic problems as their dog ages, along with the links between underlying pain and a dog’s behaviour.

We look at how to spot some of the indicators of chronic pain and practical adjustments owners can make at home to help their dogs.

I demonstrate appropriate massage techniques owners can use on their dogs and provide individual instruction and feedback if owners want to practice online to ensure they feel confident using the techniques.

These workshops are never recorded but personalised to the small number of attendees to ensure everyone gets plenty of time for questions specific to their dog.

Forthcoming dates are on the website here and can be booked via Eventbrite.
